Add the finishing touch to your decking or cladding project with Composite Skirting Trims. Available in eight colors, Skirting Trims are designed to seal off the edges and gaps between Composite Boards and the base or ground.

The best way to compliment your new (almost) finished decking or cladding project is with our Composite Skirting Trim options. The final touches to your project can be easily overlooked, and Composite Trims can give your decking or cladding the sealing it needs.

Each Trim measures 55mm x 10mm and are 2.2m lengths

    Each Trim weighs approximately 1.4kg

Available in a range of colors to compliment your Composite Decking or Cladding, including Redwood, Olive Green, Ivory, Teak, Coffee, Charcoal, Light Grey and Stone Grey. Manufactured from the same 100% recycled materials as our Wall Cladding Boards and Decking Boards, they have the same low maintenance features and qualities as the rest of your project.

    Color variations and weathering

Because of the natural materials used in our Composite Skirting Trims, color variations and weathering are to be expected. We recommend placing a single order for Composite products, as ordering separately will result in differences between batches, leading to color variation in your project. Even within a single order, you may still notice some color differences in the Skirting Trims.

After installation, the Composite Corner Trims and Cladding or Decking will endure an initial color stabilization process. This usually takes place within the first six months, as the material adjusts to its new surroundings.

Weather conditions will affect the appearance of your Composite Skirting Trims, they will differ in shade when dry compared to when wet.

FAQs

Composite Decking FAQs
  • What is composite decking?
Composite decking is a low-maintenance, high-performance alternative to traditional wood decking. It is made from a combination of wood fibers and plastic that is engineered to resist fading, staining, and rotting.
  • How long does composite decking last?
Composite decking can last up to 25 years or more with proper care and maintenance. It is resistant to fading, staining, and rotting, and does not require the same level of upkeep as traditional wood decking.
  • Can composite decking be painted or stained?
Composite decking cannot be painted or stained, as it is already color-infused during the manufacturing process. However, some brands offer a wide selection of colors to choose from to match your style preferences.
  • Is composite decking eco-friendly?
Composite decking can be eco-friendly, as many brands use recycled materials in their manufacturing process. And because it requires less maintenance and has a longer lifespan than traditional wood decking, it can help reduce waste over time.
  • How does composite decking compare to wood decking?
Composite decking is generally more expensive than traditional wood decking upfront, but its lower maintenance and longer lifespan can make it a more cost-effective choice in the long run. It is also less likely to fade, stain, or rot than wood decking, making it a more durable option in harsh weather conditions.
  • How do I clean and maintain my composite decking?
To clean and maintain your composite decking, simply sweep or hose it down regularly to avoid a buildup of dirt and debris. For more stubborn stains, you can use a mild detergent and warm water. It is not recommended to use a pressure washer on composite decking, as it can cause damage to the surface.
  • Can composite decking be slippery when wet?
Composite decking can be slippery when wet, similar to traditional wood decking. However, many of us brands have developed slip-resistant coatings or textures to promote better traction in wet conditions.
  • How does composite decking handle extreme temperatures?
Composite decking can handle extreme temperatures and weather conditions better than traditional wood decking. It is engineered to withstand both freezing and hot temperatures without warping or cracking.
  • Can I install composite decking myself?
Yes, some brands offer DIY composite decking kits that are designed for easy installation. However, it is recommended to consult a professional if you have concerns or questions about the installation process.
  • Does composite decking need to be sealed or protected from the elements?
Composite decking does not need to be sealed or protected from the elements, as it is naturally resistant to fading, staining, and rotting. However, it is recommended to apply a protective coating every few years to help maintain the color and finish of your deck.
  • Can I install composite decking in a water feature or pool area? Can I install composite decking in a water feature or pool area?
Yes, composite decking can be installed in water features or pool areas, as it is resistant to water damage and rot. However, some brands may not be as slip-resistant as others, so it is important to choose a slip-resistant option to promote better traction around wet or pool areas.
  • How do I choose the right composite decking brand for my project?
When choosing the right composite decking brand for your project, consider factors such as color options, durability, cost, and slip resistance. Research different brands and read reviews to get an idea of how they perform in real-world scenarios.
